valentine's welcome sign

I'm so excited to try one the crafts I found on Pinterest (c/o ...Then She Made)!  It's a welcome sign that you can put on the front door of your house or even on your bedroom door.  It looks like it will be very easy, but I will let you know when I am done!  If you are interested in tapping into your creative side, check out this cute project!  I can't wait to show y'all the finished product!

P.S. If you aren't sure how to do the ribbon rosettes, learn about it here.

STAY TUNED!

valentine's day craftiness

I know I am early, but I love Valentine's Day so much!  One thing people probably don't know about me is how crazy I am for this lovely holiday (pun intended)!  I have been doing my due diligence and researched everything I could find for Valentine's Day on Pinterest!  I have looked for everything from gifts for my hubby to fun treats for baking to little decorating ideas.  Now it wouldn't be fair to the rest of the blogging world if I kept all of that wonderful information to myself!  So here are a few of the things that I am dying to try this year that are cheap, easy and most of all fun!

You can check out what else I have for Valentine's Day here, or you can look here for more of my boards!  I have thoroughly enjoyed looking at some of your boards too so thank you so much for the creative ideas!

1.23.12

Last night there were a number of tornadoes that hit the Birmingham and Trussville areas.   Luckily, Adam and I were in his parent's basement, and there was no damage to our house or theirs.   However, we were less than a mile from where some of the worst damage happened.  The neighborhood directly behind my in-laws had serious wind damage.

But I feel really terrible for Adam, because his old neighborhood was completely destroyed.  They were hit the worst, and unfortunately, a 16 year-old girl passed during that tornado.

Many people lost their homes and even loved ones last night and early this morning.  We hope that you keep them in your thoughts and prayers especially as they move on through this tough time.

Thank you.

i couldn't resist

Kendra is the creator of "our little almanac," and she has the most adorable family.  Today is when she puts up her Funny Friday posts which you can view here.  Her beautiful little girl, Eveyln, is still learning that it's better not to eat and talk at the same time.  So, I found another video of Evelyn where she couldn't help but make the face of a particular bad man from "Harry Potter."

Take a look at this and tell me it's not the cutest thing you have ever seen!

ivory & white

I got a really exciting email last night!  The retailers and designers for Birmingham Fashion Week made their decisions on which models will be walking in their shows.  I was picked for BRIDAL DAY!!!  Out of everything I could have modeled, I just wanted to put on another wedding dress for a day.  If you're wondering, yes of course my beautiful white wedding dress is still good enough...But I have a confession: who wouldn't want the chance to wear a Vera Wang dress once in their lives?  Yes that's right! Vera is one of the possible designers I could be walking in on this special day!

The retailer is Ivory & White.  They are a bridal boutique based out of Mountain Brook, AL with a selection of over 10 different bridal gown designers including Elizabeth Fillmore, Lela Rose and Oscar de la Renta

I can't wait to model their amazingly gorgeous dresses in February!  But in the mean time, if you are someone who is planning their wedding and looking for the perfect dress idea or just a girly girl like me who never stops looking at beautiful wedding dresses then you should check out their blog:
