Do Thanksgiving In Style

Happy Friday everyone!  Because my hubby and I are only in year 2 of home ownership, of course we couldn't pass up a chance to host Thanksgiving dinner again!  (Now Christmas, that's a different story).  So now I'm on a mission for the cutest Thanksgiving outfit.  That's where one of my favorite sites comes into play.  Polyvore.  Take a look at these 5 outfits I put together for people of all different style choices.

Attention to anyone who is obsessed with Christmas music as I am!...one of my local radio stations has already started playing the magic of Christmas!  Check out this website if you are interested!  Magic 96.5!

Also, I want to congratulate one of my best friends and her husband because they found out a few weeks ago they are pregnant with their first baby!  She is only 12 weeks along so we don't know what the gender is yet, but my girlfriend and the baby are doing great and her husband is preparing :)

Congratulations Kayla and Rand! Love you both!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Fall Fashion Looks for 2012

Hello!  It's nice to be back!  I went into blogging hibernation for a while, but I never stopped brainstorming ideas to bring to you once I returned!

So many wonderful things have happened for my hubby and I during these past few months!  We celebrated our 2 year anniversary in July, we both have new, wonderful jobs and we are planning to add an addition to our family very soon!  Don't get too excited...we're saving up for a lovable little baby Cockapoo!  If you've never seen a Cockapoo puppy before, let me give you a little treat -

Cockapoo

Between watching 11+ hours of football yesterday and eating some GREAT food, I decided to play on the computer and put together some outfits of my favorite items for the fall.  Take a look and let me know what you think!
Fall #1

Fall #1 by kinsleyfoster featuring thin belts

I love the combination of black and brown together as well as these paisley print tights that you will be seeing everywhere this fall.
Fall #2

Fall #2 by kinsleyfoster featuring leather tote handbags

Western is the hot trend this year for fall.  However, it's best to pair just one or two pieces that are western inspired (such as cowboy boots or a chambray shirt) with more everyday items.  You will see me in this look a lot this year!
Fall #3

Fall #3 by kinsleyfoster featuring a tweed blazer

I am currently in search of the perfect tweed blazer, preferably with leather elbow patches, because it gives you a nice alternative to wearing thin silk blouses without a bulky coat.
Fall #4

Fall #4 by kinsleyfoster featuring copper jewelry

Continuing the trend from 2011, leather jackets are another must-have for the fall and winter 2012 season.  And you can never go wrong with the classic shades of brown and blue combos.
Fall #5

Fall #5 by kinsleyfoster featuring proenza schouler

One of my favorite looks right now are knee high socks with boots.  This can be either a casual or a slightly more dressy look.  Also, layering is a great trend in 2012 whether it's something as simple as a sheer t-shirt over a long sleeve top or a chunky cable knit sweater over a button-up dress shirt.
Fall #6

Fall #6 by kinsleyfoster featuring tory burch

One of my personal favorites this year is the preppy look.  It is one of the easiest trends to master with a pair of jeans, a tailored button-up layered with a colored blazer and some lace up loafers.

I hope you enjoyed these outfits because I had a ton of fun putting them together!  If you want to see details about each piece, just click on the picture, and it will take you to my Polyvore page.  I am going to be putting more outfits together for you so check back soon!

Have a blessed Sunday afternoon!

The Grand Ole Pumpkin Patch

My birthday is slowly approaching, and it was that time again to hit the road and visit The Grand Ole Pumpkin Patch in Clanton, AL.  My sister was unable to make it home this year, but my hubby and my wonderful parents came along, and we had such a blast!  I love that this pumpkin patch is so close to us and there is always so much to do there!

This year, we rode the tractor wagon out to the patch and spent about 30 minutes (less than the hour we spend last year) and picked out our perfect pumpkins to carve for our front porches!  There were hundreds!...but I think we found the best one out there (I give most of the credit to Adam).

We also got the chance to see a real Native American do some traditional dances for us.  Very cool!

 Happy October 11th!

OCTOBER...THE GREATEST MONTH OF THE YEAR!

I'm so glad that it's October!  It's my favorite month out of the whole year (December is a close second, though).  There are a number of reason why this is my favorite month (this year in particular):
1.  The weather finally cools off!  Starting on Saturday, we will have the first continuous period of cooler weather we have had so far this fall.  It's only going to be in the 70's, but down here in Alabama, that's cool for this time of year!

2.  I'm going on a tour of one of my favorite shows on tv right now...The Vampire Diaries!  Call me a wierdo all you want, but my mom and I are obsessed with that show, and it's something we've wanted to do for a while now - to actually go to where they film the show!  As you know, we live in Alabama, and the show is filmed in Covington, GA.  That is a small town just outside of Atlanta.  There is even a chance we might get to see the cast filming part of the show!  I can't wait to do an entry about that trip!  We leave next Thursday and the tour is on Friday!!!

3.  My birthday is this month!  And who doesn't love turning one year older?  I'm just kidding...I actually LOVE my birthday!  It may sound cheesy, but it gives me a reason to get my little sister home from college for a weekend and bring together the whole family to celebrate together!  I'll be turning 25 this year...whoo hoo!

4.  Because there are only so many weekends during football season that are away games or games just not worth attending, I have a limited time frame when I can ask my sister to come home and celebrate for my birthday.  This year she is coming home next weekend, which brings me to my next fun activity!  We're going to be going to the Alabama Grand Ole Pumpkin Patch in Clanton, AL!  We have made it a tradition to go every year, and it's usually the weekend my sister comes home for my birthday.  It's such a fun place!

Our main goal is to find the perfect pumpkin to take home and carve to put outside the front door.  However, there are so many other activities to do there too:
  • Covered wagon hayride to the pumpkin patch
  • Learn a lot about Native American history
  • Shop for fall decorations and crafts
  • Petting Zoo
  • Play in the inflatable park
  • Helicopter rides
  • Take a tractor train ride
  • Hay pyramid
  • Hay maze
  • EATING- bbq, pies, roasted corn, funnel cakes, candied apples and more!
5.  Especially for this year...ME AND HUBBY ARE GOING TO WALT DISNEY WORLD!

This is going to be one of the best trips I've taken to Disney World because it's the first time I've gotten to go with my hubby!  We both LOVE Disney: Micky, Minnie, Goofy, Donald, all the princesses, the rides, the atmosphere, and the feeling of being a little kid over and over again every time you go.  It really is a magical place.  I haven't been in 6 years, but Adam has me beat there - he hasn't gone since he was 10 - he's now 26!  I told him to prepare himself because a lot has changed since then! And the exciting part is that we are getting to go in October when they have all of their fall/Halloween stuff out!

There are decorations everywhere you turn (even some with secret Mickeys hidden inside)!  And of course there is Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party that features Mickey's Boo To You Parade!  This will be both mine and Adam's first time to go to this so we are really looking forward to it!  We've heard it's AWESOME!!

6.  On top of all this, there's still Halloween coming!!!  See - the best month EVER right??  My aunt and uncle will be coming to Alabama from Texas to be with us for Halloween!  Since Adam and I are in our first house (surrounded by kids I might add), we are doing Halloween at our house this year!  We are so excited about giving out candy and seeing all the cute little kids dressed up in their costumes!  Even Adam is getting into the spirit and narrowing down his options.  He always wants to be the best dressed!

So I will definitely be keeping you all updated on this amazing month of fun, family and, of course, food!
HAPPY OCTOBER EVERYBODY!
